Now and Then is a visual study of memory, identity, and the ways personal and collective histories intersect. Initiated in 2019, the project examines my family’s legacy in Tengchong, China, alongside the evolving identities of Asian diaspora communities in Los Angeles. By layering archival family photographs with contemporary photos, the work constructs a dialogue between past and present, revealing how inherited narratives shape cultural and personal identity.
