Echoes of Lucknow is an architectural zine inspired by my friend Kumar’s traditional family home in Lucknow, India. The bottom photograph of his three-generation house became the foundation for the work’s vertical, sculptural form, echoing the architecture of memory and place. This one-of-a-kind piece unfolds like a lantern, becoming a vessel for memory.

Created with mulberry rice paper and patterned paper from India, the work carries the textures of place within its structure. It tells the story of returning home for a family wedding, where rituals, intimate gatherings, childhood memories, and the rhythm of everyday life intertwine. The zine stands as both object and experience—an artifact of remembrance and a vessel for the echoes of home and family.
